1. What is the Indian Removal Act?
The Indian Removal Act was signed by President Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830. This law provided an assigned area for the Indians adjacent to Missouri and Arkansas.
500.000 dollars were made available for negotiations with the Indians. According to the law, each tribe would receive as much land in the Indian region as they had given up in the east.
Each tribe would function independently without the United States interfering.
2. Do you think treaties between Native Americans and the American government were profitable for both sides?

Treaties between the American government and Native Americans weren't profitable for the Native Americans. They always came out on the losing end. For example the Native Americans had to leave their territory, they were not treated properly.
Many treaties have helped the US to expand it's territory and led to many broken promises made to the Native Americans.
3. Explain the title "Trail of tears".
During the forced relocation (tears) of the Cherokee to the west of the United States. many Cherokee died. (tears)
